Candy Making Instructions:

Candy Making So Easy

You will need...

  1. Melt your chocolate wafers. This can be done in a double boiler, a measuring cup set in a pan of water or in a microwave oven. Be sure to melt chocolate slowly, stirring occasionally until chocolate is melted.

  2. Pour, or spoon melted chocolate into your candy mould. Once mould cavities are full, tap the mould gently on the counter to release air bubbles. For sucker moulds, place sticks in mould after it has been tapped.

  3. Place candy mould in fridge on a level surface for 5 to 10 minutes, allowing chocolate to harden. For quicker results, mould may be chilled in freezer for a few minutes.

  4. Remove from fridge, turn upside down and candy will fall out. For stubborn pieces, flex mould slightly or return to fridge.

NOTE: If you wish to add colour, you can "paint" melted coloured chocolate wafers into the mould in stages. Paint a section, cool it, paint another section, cool it and so on until all parts of mould you want coloured are painted and chilled. THEN fill the mould completely with slightly cooled chocolate.

Simple to do, looks great and tastes delicious!!!

The above applies to Merckens wafers. For Belgian or no sugar added wafers, please see instructions at a Bulk Barn store near you.
