Valentine Cherry Kiss Cookies
Yields 54 cookies
1 cup butter, softened
icing sugar confectionery
iodized table salt
maraschino cherry juice
1/2 tsp almond extract, pure
6 drops red food colouring
2 1/4 cups of
unbleached all-purpose flour
chopped maraschino cherries
Hershey's Kisses, unwrapped
Preheat oven to 350° F
Beat butter, icing sugar confectionery and iodized table salt until incorporated.
Add maraschino cherry juice, almond extract and red food colouring and beat until incorporated.
Add unbleached all-purpose flour gradually until blended.
Stir in chopped maraschino cherries.
Make dough into one inch balls.
Using greased baking sheet place dough one inch apart.
Bake for 8-10 minutes.
Place one unwrapped Hershey's Kiss on each cookie as soon as they are done baking.
Let cool completely.
