    Maple Butter Tart Bars


    Ingredients:

    • 1 1/4 cup + 1 tsp all-purpose flour
    • 1 1/2 cup dried cranberries
    • 1/2 cup pecan pieces
    • 1 tsp baking powder
    • 1/4 tsp salt
    • 2 large eggs
    • 1 cup unsalted butter (3/4 cup room temp. + 1/4 cup melted.)
    • 1/4 cup maple syrup
    • 1/3 cup + 3/4 cup brown sugar

     

    Base Layer Ingredients:

    • 3/4 cup room temp unsalted butter
    • 1/3 cup packed brown sugar
    • 1 1/4 cup all-purpose flour

     

    Filling Ingredients:

    • 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
    • 1/4 cup maple syrup
    • 1 tsp baking powder
    • 1/4 tsp salt
    • 1 1/2 cup dried cranberries
    • 1/2 cup pecan pieces
    • 1 tsp all-purpose flour
    • 1/4 cup melted unsalted butter
    • 2 large eggs


    Directions:

    1. Preheat oven to 350°F
    2. Add 3/4 cup butter, 1/3 cup brown sugar and 1 1/4 cup flour into a mixer. With a paddle attachment, mix together on medium speed until dough looks crumbly.
    3. Remove from bowl and evenly press into a 9"x9" baking pan. Bake for 15 minutes.
    4. While the base is baking, make the top layer.
    5. Into a mixing bowl add 3/4 cup brown sugar, 1/4 cup maple syrup, 1/4 tsp salt, 1 1/2 cups dried cranberries, 1/2 cup pecan pieces, 1 tsp flour, and 1 tsp baking powder.
    6. Stir in the 1/4 cup melted butter and the 2 eggs until everything is fully incorporated.
    7. Pour mixture on top of the freshly baked base layer. Bake for 20 minutes.
    8. Remove from oven and let cool completely before cutting.

     

    Yields: 12 x 2" bars
