    Vegan Butter Tarts


    • 8 tbsp vegan butter
    • 3/4 cup brown sugar, packed + extra for topping if desired
    • 1/4 cup sultana raisins
    • 1/4 cup chopped pecans or walnuts (+ whole ones for garnish)
    • 5 tbsp arrowroot flour
    • 1 tsp vanilla
    • Pinch sea salt
    • 3 tbsp plant milk (I used oat)
    • 8 small vegan tart shells


    1. Preheat oven to 325°F
    2. Cream the vegan butter, brown sugar, arrowroot flour and plant milk together. Add in the vanilla and a pinch of sea salt and mix together fully.
    3. Lay out your tarts on a baking sheet and put a few raisins and crushed pecan (or walnut) bits in the bottom of each tart.
    4. Fill the tarts almost to the top with the butter mixture
    5. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until the crust is golden brown.
