    New York Style Pizza Dough


    Ingredients:

    • 350g (1 1/2 cups) water
    • 11g (2 1/2 tsp) fine sea salt
    • 2g (1/2 tsp) instant dried yeast
    • 500g (4 cups) all-purpose flour
    • Weighing the ingredients in grams is recommended to get the best results!


    Directions:

    1. Prepare Ingredients:

    • Measure out all ingredients. In a mixing bowl, dissolve the salt and yeast in the water.

     

    2. Mix the Dough:

    • Gradually add the flour to the water mixture. Mix by hand until all the ingredients come together to form a single mass of dough.

     

    3. Rest the Dough:

    • Let the dough rest for 20 minutes. After resting, knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for about a minute. The dough should feel smooth and elastic.

     

    4. First Rise:

    • Place the dough seam side down in a lightly oiled container. Cover with a tight-fitting lid and let it rise for 2 hours at room temperature.

     

    5. Shape the Dough:

    • Lightly flour your work surface and hands. Remove the dough from the container and place it on the floured surface. Dust the top of the dough with flour, then divide it into two equal-sized pieces.

     

    6. Second Rise:

    • Place the dough balls on lightly floured dinner plates, making sure the plates are large enough to allow the dough to expand. Lightly dust the tops with flour, cover with plastic wrap, and refrigerate until you're ready to make your pizzas.

     

    7. Before Baking:

    • Remove the dough from the fridge 60-90 minutes before baking to allow it to come to room temperature. Shape, top, and bake your pizza as desired!
