Valentine's Day Sweet & Salty Cookies

    Ingredients:

    • 1 cup (226g) butter
    • 1/3 cup (67g) brown sugar
    • 1/3 cup (67g) granulated sugar
    • 1/2 cup (170g) honey
    • 1 large egg
    • 1 tbsp vanilla extract
    • 1 tsp cinnamon
    • 1 tsp salt
    • 1 tsp baking soda
    • 2 1/2 cups (312g) all-purpose flour
    • 1/2 cup (85g) chocolate chips
    • 1/2 cup (85g) white chocolate chips
    • 1/2 cup (30g) Valentine's pretzels (crushed or whole)
    • 1/4 cup (30g) Happy Hearts candy
    • 1/4 cup (40g) pink sprinkles
    • Flaky sea salt (to taste)

    Directions:

    Step 1:

    1. Cut the butter into tablespoon-sized pieces and place them in a saucepan over medium heat.
    2. Melt the butter, stirring constantly with a rubber spatula.
    3. Continue stirring as the butter begins to foam and the milk solids turn golden brown with a nutty aroma (about 5 minutes).
    4. Remove from heat and let the browned butter cool for at least 30 minutes.

    Step 2:

    1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
    2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and lightly grease with cooking spray.

    Step 3:

    1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooled browned butter, brown sugar, granulated sugar, honey, egg, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth.
    2. Add flour, cinnamon, salt, and baking soda, stirring until fully incorporated.
    3. Fold in chocolate chips, white chocolate chips, pretzels, and sprinkles until evenly distributed.

    Step 4:

    1. Scoop cookie dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
    2. (Optional) Press a few extra chocolate chips on top of each cookie for extra chocolatey goodness!
    3. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges turn golden brown.

    Step 5:

    1. Remove cookies from the oven and immediately sprinkle with flaky sea salt.
    2. Press Happy Hearts candies onto the warm cookies for a festive touch.
    3. Let cookies cool for a few minutes, then enjoy!
