    Almond Butter - Smooth

    Almond Butter - Smooth

    001016

    Ingredients:

    100% dry roasted almonds.

    Directions:

    Allergens:

contains almonds. may contain other tree nuts, peanuts and/or sesame.

    Usage Tips:

uses for almond butter are as varied as they are for peanut butter. it can be used as a spread, mixed into sauces and dressings, eaten plain or incorporated into your cookie and dessert recipes. it is also great as a thickener for milkshakes.

    Storage:

the fats in almond butter can cause it to go rancid, so it should be kept refrigerated. over time, the oil in almond butter may separate and rise, in which case, simply stir the oil back in.

    Point of Interest:

like the more familiar peanut butter, almond butter is made by grinding the almond nut into a smooth, creamy paste. as with other nut butters, almond butter retains the nutritional value of the almonds it comes from. it is rich in protein, fibre and essential fatty acids, although it is higher in calories than many other nut butters. the flavour is quite similar to peanut butter, with a faint hint of almonds.
