    1 cup (110 g) spelt flakes 2 cups (500 ml) water pinch of salt (optional) bring the water to a boil in a saucepan and then add the spelt flakes. reduce heat and cook 10 to 20 minutes, depending on the consistency you prefer, stirring occasionally. salt to taste. serve with maple syrup, honey or raw sugar and milk.
